Konzentriert die UBS weitere Arbeitsplätze in Manhattan? Im US-Investmentbanking geht das Gerücht, die Niederlassung in Stamford könnte aufgegeben werden.
Publik wurde dies durch ein Mail, das ein UBS-Mann aus Stamford an «Dealbreaker» sandte – unter Berufung auf einen «senior UBS'er». Die These: Die Bank verfüge über genügend Platz in New York, um den Ableger aufzugeben; zudem sei es schwieriger, für Arbeitplätze in Connecticut gutes Personal zu rekrutieren.
Das UBS-Zentrum in Stamford ist bekannt, weil es den grössten Handelsraum der Welt hat; er ist 3400 Quadratmeter gross.
Hier das Mail: «From a senior UBS’er– they are thinking of moving the whole shebang back to NY. They apparently don’t own the Stamford building anymore, they have space in NYC, higher-ups feel they might be missing business (or who knows, maybe the highest-ups live in NYC and this is an excuse to stop the reverse-commute!) and are having trouble recruiting talent because of the commute (rather than, say, their overall situation).»
