Was Terminpech ist, zeigt derzeit der gestürzte Barclays-Chef Bob Diamond: Nach der Aufregung um die Libor-Manipulationen erscheint im renommierten «Georgetown Journal of International Affairs» ein Aufsatz von Diamond.
Das Thema: «Corporate Philanthropy». Also die Frage, wie Unternehmen Gutes tun sollen und können.
Natürlich wirkt der ganze Text jetzt irgendwie deplatziert, und manch ein Satz tönt unfreiwillig ironisch, zum Beispiel:
- «To the question "Can the corporation be a good citizen?" the answer must not only be that it can but, in fact, that it must.»
- «Responsible citizenship is not about giving money to good causes, but rather about seeking opportunities where the organization can invest in communities and add value»
Wobei der Barclays-Chef mit der Aufforderung «to add value» wohl etwas anderes meinte, als jetzt gemeinhin gelesen wird.
