Years ago, Alexander Classen was the man behind bold plans to energize the wealth management of Coutts, the U.K.-based bank. It didn't work out as planned and Royal Bank of Scotland put its subsidiary Coutts International up for sale.
UBP bought the Zurich-based unit in March 2015 and a couple of months later, Classen left the company.
Now, the banker with a distinguished career at Pictet, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan is back as a partner at Bedrock. The family office ranks third in Europe according to a list compiled by «Bloomberg».

Classen was born in Geneva. He is a Swiss citizen, has worked and lived in Switzerland, London and Singapore. He studied at the University of Geneva and acquired a degree in economics.
